Worst Cities for Spring Allergies for 2016
If you live in McAllen, Texas, you may need to take extra steps to reduce your exposure to pollen. This is because Mcallen comes in at No. 5 on the AAFA’s 2016 Spring Allergy Capitals report. To reduce your exposure to allergy triggers is to reduce the time spent outside on days when the pollen count is especially high. You can obtain the pollen levels from your local newspaper or TV or radio station. Even doing a quick internet search can reveal local pollen levels. If the pollen levels are high, avoid being outside, especially in the early morning hours between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m., when the pollen counts are high. Furthermore, knowing the amount of pollen depends on the weather can help you know when to avoid being outdoors. Pollen is in the air on hot, dry, and windy days. However, on cool and rainy days, the pollen is not in the air but on the ground.
