Travel Vaccination FAQ

Sightseeing in South America

South America is a mix of booming cities and some of the poorest areas in the world. Because of this, vaccination requirements are slightly more complicated. Routine vaccinations are required as always, but you’ll also need a few more before traveling to South America including hepatitis A and typhoid. If you plan to visit multiple countries, you’ll also need to be vaccinated for yellow fever. And if you’re visiting some of the poorer South American countries such as Peru or Ecuador, traveling “off the beaten track” or working as a volunteer, you should consider both the hepatitis B and rabies vaccines. Talk to your pharmacist and doctor before you travel to decide the best plan for you.
