Brushing Your Teeth After Meals

Research shows that brushing your teeth right after a meal may do more harm than good. Brushing your teeth immediately after a meal may increase the chance of enamel erosion. Tooth enamel is softened by exposure to acidic foods and drinks during a meal and can be worn away by brushing. According to the Mayo Clinic, if you have consumed anything acidic, you should wait at least 30 minutes before brushing your teeth.
