Drinking any form of alcohol in excess can raise the risk of several different forms of cancer. Heavy drinkers (50 grams or more) have at least double the risk of mouth, throat and voice box cancer compared to those who avoid alcohol, according to the CDC. Research has also shown an increase in colorectal and liver cancer with drinking. Cancer Research UK recommends limiting alcohol consumption to two drinks a day in order to limit your cancer risk.
