Multiple Myeloma

Multiple myeloma is a rare cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow that can lead to bone tumors. Since plasma cells play a role in the immune system, patients with multiple myeloma might have an increased risk of infection as well as unexplained broken bones. Multiple myeloma accounts for around 0.8 percent of all new cancer cases.
