Congenital Hypertrichosis

Congenital hypertrichosis involves abnormal and progressive hair growth across the body that is present at birth. The condition is extremely rare, with fewer than 50 documented cases worldwide. Because of patients’ appearance in extreme cases, hypertrichosis has sometimes been called werewolf syndrome.
