Rare Diseases You've Never Heard Of
Acromegaly occurs when the body produces an abnormally high amount of growth hormone after the skeleton has already finished growing. Symptoms include abnormal growth, bone changes that can alter facial features and the enlargement of body organs. Acromegaly occurs in around six out of every 100,000 adults.
