Foods That Help You Live Longer

Blueberries

You probably don’t need an excuse to eat more blueberries, but you can add a healthy mind to the list of potential benefits. Oxidative stress plays a particularly detrimental effect on the brain, as damaged neurons cannot be as easily replaced as most other cells in the body. Multiple studies have found that even short-term blueberry supplementation can help fight oxidative stress and may even reverse age-related declines in cognitive and motor skills. Additionally, research at the University of Manchester suggests that eating blueberries may help ward off neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s.
