Alternative ADHD Treatments
Sleep deprivation can worsen symptoms of ADHD. Unfortunately, patients with ADHD often have trouble sleeping. This may be because of stimulant medication. If you suspect it is due to medication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about your prescription. To help you or your child sleep, set and enforce a regular bedtime. If background noises are an issue, turn on a sound machine or fan to drown noises out. Turn off all screens — TVs, phones and computers — an hour before bed and limit physical activity in the evenings. If sleep is still a problem, talk to your doctor.
