Zymar
Zymar is an anti-bacterial eye drop used to treat bacterial infections of the eye (pink eye). Make sure not to touch the tip of the applicator.
Zymar Overview
Zymar is a prescription medication used to treat bacterial eye infections. Zymar belongs to a group of drugs called fluoroquinolones, which help to kill bacterial cells.
This medication comes in solution (liquid) form and is applied topically during waking hours to the affected eye every 2 hours for the first and second day (up to 8 times in one day), then 1 drop up to 4 times daily for the next 5 days (total length of treatment is 7 days).
Common side effects include redness and irritation of the eye, dry eye and taste disturbances. Zymar can also cause blurred vision. It is not recommended to wear contact lenses until eye infection has resolved.
