Theraflu Daytime Severe Cold & Cough

Theraflu Daytime Severe Cold and Cough  is an over the counter medication used to relieve symptoms due to a cold including minor aches and pains, minor sore throat pain, headache, nasal and sinus congestion, cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation, and temporarily reduces fever.

It is a single product containing 3 medications: dextromethorphan, phenylephrine, and acetaminophen.

Dextromethorphan is in a class of medications called antitussives. It works by decreasing activity in the part of the brain that causes coughing. Phenylephrine is in a class of medications called nasal decongestants. It works by reducing swelling of the blood vessels in the nasal passages. Acetaminophen is in a class of medications called analgesics. These work to reduce pain and fever. 

This medication comes in powder packets and is dissolved in 8 oz. hot water. It should be sipped while hot and full contents should be consumed within 10-15 minutes.

Common side effects of Theraflu Multi-Symptom Severe Cold include nervousness, dizziness and lightheadedness.
