What You Need to Know About Lupus

Lupus Diagnosis

To make a lupus diagnosis, a doctor must take several factors into account. These include lab test results, medical history, current symptoms and even factors like whether your family members have autoimmune diseases that could be passed on genetically. If several factors point to lupus, a doctor may reach the conclusion that you have the disease. Unfortunately, however, lupus symptoms can come and go gradually and appear as symptoms of other diseases — making the lupus diagnosis a sometimes difficult one to reach.
