What You Need to Know About Lupus
While lupus may have a big impact on your well-being, you can still live well. As with most diseases, knowledge is power. Knowing what to expect leaves less room for unwelcome surprises. Men living with lupus should get regular prostate exams, while women with lupus should have regular breast and gynecological exams to check for diseases like cancer. Both men and women should have their blood pressure and cholesterol checked often. Those with lupus have a higher risk for heart disease, so eat healthily, exercise and avoid smoking.
