What is Restless Legs Syndrome?
RLS may be linked to a similar condition known as periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD). PLMD causes people to flex and extend their legs while sleeping. People with PLMD may twitch and kick throughout the night without knowing they are doing so. One does not need to have RLS to have PLMD, but the majority of RLS patients do have the condition.
