Warning Signs of Lung Disease
If there is blood after a cough, it may be coming from the lungs or upper respiratory tract. This may be a symptom of serious health problems, such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema, lung abscess (collection of pus in the lung), pneumonia, pulmonary embolism (blockage caused by a blood clot in the lung), lung disease or cancer.
Anytime you cough up blood, consult your doctor.
