Tips for Adults with ADHD
Money management takes time, organization and planning, making it a true challenge for many adults with ADHD. But don’t fret, you can create your own system of money management that’s simple, consistent and that works for you! Start with an honest assessment of where your money is going by tracking your purchases — big and small — for one month. This will show you how often you impulse-buy, however small the purchase may be. If impulse buying seems to be a problem for you, try shopping with cash only to keep you to a set limit. It may also help to enroll in online banking and set up bill payment reminders, so that you stay on top of bills. Apps like Mint, which provides a free money management service, can be great tools because they update automatically.
