Things You Can Do Today to Feel Better Tomorrow

Quit Smoking

Quitting smoking is probably the most important, life-saving change that you can make in your life. Just mere minutes after quitting smoking, your body begins to bounce back. Your heart rate and blood pressure begin to decrease after only 20 minutes of quitting. After a year’s time, your risk of coronary heart disease drops to half that of a continuing smoker’s risk. In only five years after quitting, your risk of stroke and heart disease is about equal to that of a non-smoker’s risk. Quitting smoking not only helps prevent heart disease, but it also reduces the risk of lung disease, cancer and Type 2 diabetes.
