Summer Survival Guide for Healthy Families

A Summer First-Aid Kit

Playground scrapes or outdoor injuries should be treated correctly, and you’ll be thankful later if you plan ahead by preparing a summer first-aid kit. Adhesive bandages of different sizes, sterile gauze pads and medical tape are necessary items. A thermometer, instant ice bags, tweezers, cotton balls and swabs, antiseptic, eye wash, calamine lotion for stings or poison ivy, and hydrocortisone cream or lotion are all useful items to have on hand. Be sure to bring your first-aid kit on outdoor adventures and road trips and restock it after use.
