Stars with Diabetes

Pop-rocker Nick Jonas of the band the Jonas Brothers was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 13 years old after experiencing symptoms like weight loss, unquenchable thirst and frequent trips to the bathroom. During a 2007 performance at the Carnival For a Cure, Jonas told viewers about having diabetes and how he wants to inspire those who are affected by the condition. “I found it amazing just how many people know somebody with diabetes or have diabetes themselves,” he stated after publicly announcing his condition, “The fact that I’m able to have somewhat of a spotlight to share my story, I just feel blessed.”
