Running Safety Tips
Your body loses a lot of fluids while you’re running — roughly 12 ounces for every 20 minutes. So make sure you stay hydrated before, during and after your workout. The AAOS recommends drinking 10 to 15 ounces of water 15 minutes before you start your run, and every 20 to 30 minutes along your route. How much water should you drink? The AAOS recommends weighing yourself before and after your run. For every pound lost, replenish with one pint of water.
