Running Safety Tips

Be Careful

Running on pavement can put a lot of strain on the body, and potentially cause shin pain and even stress fractures, according to the AAOS. The AAOS recommends runners stay on softer surfaces, such as dirt trails, whenever possible. Runners should also avoid hills because they can increase stress on the ankles and feet. If you like to run on a track, remember to change directions halfway through. This way you’re putting an even amount of pressure on both feet.
