Viral gastroenteritis is also known as the stomach flu and refers to swelling and inflammation of the stomach and intestines from a virus. This virus can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting and is usually spread through unwashed hands, unclean foods and contaminated water.
