NHL Players Who Give Back
For many fans, Joe Sakic is a true hero, shining both on the ice and in the community. Sakic was the 9th player to be awarded the NHL Foundation Player Award for his excellent community service. Sakic is a huge supporter of organizations that help families in need. One particular organization that Sakic is involved in is the Make-a-Wish Foundation, which helps make dreams come true for children who are battling life-threatening diseases like multiple sclerosis and cancer.
