An anti-inflammatory diet works to provide vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, dietary fiber, and protective phytonutrients to help reduce inflammation. Many medical conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, asthma, type 2 diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, and heart disease, are linked to inflammation in the body, says the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine and Public Health. According to the Arthritis Foundation, an anti-inflammatory diet is a good choice for those with rheumatoid arthritis.
