Tysabri is a monoclonal antibody produced in the laboratory designed to stop potentially damaging immune cells in the bloodstream from crossing to the brain and spinal cord. This medication increases the risk of a usually fatal brain infection known as progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML).
