How Makeup Can Affect Your Health
A stye is a red, painful bump near the edge of the eyelid that may look like a boil or a pimple. Styes are caused by a bacterial infection that affects the eyelid or the area at the base of the eyelashes. If a stye isn’t treated with home remedies, or antibiotics and steroids, complications can ensue. While lack of sleep, poor nutrition and frequent eye rubbing can sometimes be to blame, styes can also be caused by makeup. To keep an eye out for styes, don’t share makeup with others and avoid using thick eyeliners, eyeshadows and mascaras.
