How to Keep Pets Safe in the Summer
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), clipping or shaving your animal in the summer is usually a good idea — especially if it has a long coat. But be sure to ask your vet if this applies to your pet. Some dogs and cats may actually benefit from the sun protection their fur provides. If your dog has a thin coat, apply sunscreen on its body for extra protection.
