Many of us are slaves to our alarm clocks, but hitting the snooze button over and over after that first ring can actually disrupt a person’s sleep cycle. The body has the ability to wake up on its own by releasing adrenaline and increasing body temperature an hour or so before wakeup time. The shrill sound of an alarm can jolt the body out of sleep, alarming the body and causing a surge in blood pressure. Snooze buttons do this to the body over and over.
