Health Benefits of Cycling
Half of American workers live within five miles of their workplace, according to a recent National Household Transportation Survey. That equates to a doable 20-minute ride each way. If you live close to your office, you can pedal to work twice a week and burn up to 3,000 extra calories — close to one pound of fat — each month! Cycling is also one of the easiest forms of exercise to fit into daily life. If you swim, you may have to head to the pool. If you lift weights, you may have to hit the gym. Cycling to work, on the other hand, can easily become part of your daily routine.
