Forgetting Forgetfulness: Methods That May Boost Your Memory
Interaction with other people may ward off depression and stress, both of which can contribute to memory loss. Look for opportunities to get together, share a meal or attend an event with someone. A recent study from the Harvard School of Public Health found that people with the most active social lives had the slowest rates of memory decline. If a human isn’t handy, try spending time with a highly social pet like a dog. Studies show that being social tends to make you laugh more, too, and laughter engages multiple regions across the brain.
