Famous People with Arthritis

Pierre-Auguste Renoir

This French painter was a leader in the creation of the Impressionist style, but he was also one of the first well-documented cases of rheumatoid arthritis. His condition left him bound to a wheelchair for the final 20 years of his life. Despite being crippled by RA, he continued to paint often by strapping the paintbrush to his hand.
