Originally cooked up to flush toxins and waste from the body, The Master Cleanse has recently become popular for quick weight loss. Say goodbye to solid food. This diet consists of consuming only lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper for at least 10 days. Although this all-liquid diet typically does yield weight loss, it dangerously deprives the body of all nutrition. Without real food, energy levels can drop quickly. Side effects of the cleanse include nausea, dizziness and dehydration.
