Pay attention if your skin takes on a new hue. If your skins looks a bit yellow, it could be a sign of liver disease. Diabetes patients with bronze skin may have excess iron in their systems. Certain dark patches around creases, joints or scars may indicate adrenal gland problems, such as underproduction of cortisol (also called Addison’s disease). Don’t write off paleness either — if you are not naturally fair-skinned, paleness may indicate conditions like anemia, low blood sugar, infection or even cancer.
