Depression Isn’t Just Feeling Sad

Everyone has their mental ups and downs, but it is important to recognize the difference between sadness and depression. From a clinical perspective, depression is a combination of symptoms that can include feeling sad or empty, reduced interest in activities, changes in weight or appetite, fatigue, feelings of worthlessness or recurrent thoughts of death that persist for more than 2 weeks.
