Coping with Overactive Bladder

Nerve Stimulation

This procedure places a thin wire close to the sacral nerves near the tailbone. These nerves carry signals to the bladder, and regulating them may help control OAB symptoms. This is often done with a temporary trial wire, which is connected to a device that delivers electrical impulses to the bladder. If this trial is successful, the wire will be permanently connected to a battery-powered device placed under the skin.
