Commonly Ignored Heart Attack Symptoms

Pain in the Shoulder, Neck, Jaw or Arm

Pain doesn’t have to be centered around the heart or chest to still be related to a heart attack. In some cases, a dull ache in the shoulder, neck or arm is the only symptom experienced by patients leading up to a heart attack. This can be particularly dangerous as the pain may be attributed to a pulled muscle and subsequently get ignored. However, unlike the fairly persistent ache that results from a pulled muscle, pain related to a cardiovascular issue often comes and goes in cycles. Talk with your doctor if you experience unusual pain that seems to move or doesn’t subside after a couple of days.
