Commonly Ignored Heart Attack Symptoms

Digestive Issues

A variety of digestive symptoms, including nausea, indigestion, heartburn and abdominal pain, might initially be attributed to a digestive issue like IBS or food poisoning. While these are almost always signs of a less serious ailment, if there aren’t any noticeable causes, if the symptoms persist for more than a few days and if they frequently come and go, it may be a sign of a more serious issue like an impending heart attack. These digestive symptoms are particularly common in women and adults over 60, who are more likely to experience ‘secondary’ heart attack symptoms that aren’t accompanied by crushing chest pain. Unfortunately, without well-recognized symptoms like chest pain, individuals are less likely to go to the emergency room and receive proper medical attention.
