Celiac Disease 101
Adults with celiac disease don’t always have digestive symptoms. Patients may also have iron-deficiency (anemia), pain in the bones or joints, depression, anxiety or seizures. They may also experience numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, have an irregular menstrual cycle, or have bone issues — such as arthritis, bone loss or osteoporosis. Other adult symptoms may include fatigue, skin rash and canker sores inside the mouth.
