Celebrity Eating Disorders
An eating disorder is an illness that causes serious disturbances to a person’s everyday diet, such as eating extremely small amounts of food or overeating to the point of vomiting. Severe distress about body weight or shape often signals these disorders.
Eating disorders are complex and devastating conditions that can have serious consequences for health and relationships. According to NEDA, people struggling with an eating disorder need professional help. The earlier a person with an eating disorder seeks treatment, the greater the likelihood of their physical and emotional recovery.
Admitting that you have an eating, exercise or body image problem that requires treatment can be difficult. But there is hope! There are a variety of treatment options available, including individual therapy, group therapy, nutritional support and psychiatric care.
If you or someone you know is struggling with an eating disorder, seek help. Don’t be afraid to take the first steps toward recovery!
