Celebrities with Skin Conditions
Like many women, singer-songwriter Alicia Keys has hormonal acne, meaning that monthly hormonal changes affect her body as well as her skin. By its nature, acne can be considered a hormonal disease as hormones are responsible for the maturation of the oil glands in the skin. Once these glands are matured, they can become acne lesions. While hormone levels in both men and women can result in acne, acne in women tends to happen alongside menstruation.
