Bipolar Disorder: What You Need to Know
Recognition and diagnosis of bipolar disorder in its earliest stages is important for effective treatment. Treatment plans may include a combination of medication, psychotherapy, education, self-management strategies and external support from family, friends and support groups. Although there are many treatments, bipolar disorder has no cure. It is common for bipolar disorder patients to discontinue their treatment when their symptoms improve, but doctors suggest that bipolar disorder treatment be continuous.
