Bathroom Safety Tips

Potty Training

Toilets are a prime spot for germs to find a home, so it’s important to keep children healthy by teaching them proper potty hygiene. Use disinfectant wipes to sanitize the surrounding area and empty all contents of the potty into the toilet before cleaning the potty chair. Make sure your child knows to close the lid before flushing to avoid the splashing of fluids, and teach your child to always wash his or her hands after using the potty. The Cleveland Clinic recommends washing hands with warm, soapy water for at least 15 seconds and drying with a clean towel. Remember if your child sees you practicing good bathroom hygiene, chances are he or she will follow suit.
