9 Easy Stretches to Relieve Back Pain
This is a great way to loosen the muscles in your back. Moving back and forth through each position (cat and cow) helps move your spine into a neutral position, relaxes your muscles and eases tension.
Start: On all fours, move into cat position slowly. Press your spine upward (like an angry cat), vertebra by vertebra, arching your back.
- Hold for a few seconds.
- Move to cow position by scooping your spine in, pressing back your shoulder blades and lifting your head up toward the ceiling.
- Hold for a few seconds.
- Repeat cat and cow about 10 times each.
