8 Healthy Facts About Avocados
Avocados are a great source of both soluble and insoluble dietary fiber. High-fiber foods can help you maintain a healthy weight, normalize bowel movements, lower blood cholesterol levels, and lower your risk for heart disease and diabetes. Dietary fiber includes all of the parts of plant foods that your body can't digest or absorb. Soluble fiber dissolves in water and turns into a gel that slows digestion. Insoluble fiber doesn't dissolve in water, and health experts believe it helps food pass more quickly through the stomach and intestines.
