8 Healthy Facts About Avocados
A single avocado (or 1 cup) has around 700 milligrams of potassium. According to the National Institutes of Health, your body needs potassium to build muscle, break down and use carbohydrates, maintain normal body growth and control the electrical activity of the heart. Potassium is also essential for maintaining proper blood pressure, nerve impulse transmission and healthy function of your body's cells, tissues and organs. It even helps regulate the amount of water in your body, so you maintain a healthy blood pH level.
