Standing side bends like Triangle pose are ideal for stretching the rib cage and improving the diaphragm's capacity for breath. Look down to start this pose. Once breath control is established, tilt the head up. Triangle pose may help open blocked airways caused by bronchitis or emphysema, and may help build chest strength, according to Yoga Chicago.
