Dr. David Brown is an interventional cardiologist at Medical City Dallas and The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. After graduating from the United States mIlitary Academy at West Point, New York Dr. Brown obtained his doctorate of medicine from the George Washington School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and his cardiology fellowship at Brook Army medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Brown is board certified in cardiovascular medicine and internal medicine with a specialty in cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Brown is an interventional cardiologist at the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano and Medical City Dallas, founder and a managing partner of The Dallas Heart Group, and founder of the Heart Hospital at Baylor Plano, TX where he is the President and Chairman of the Medical Staff, Director of Interventional Cardiology, and Co-Director of Cardiovascular Research and the Structural Heart Program. He has been a lead investigator in multiple clinical trials including a number of coronary stent and porcelaneous valve trials. Dr. Brown's special areas of interest in cardiovascular medicine include nuclear cardiology, cardiac and peripheral vascular interventions, and structural heart disease. He has performed more than 10,000 interventions and has participated in multiple national and international clinical research trials. As a founding partner of The Dallas Heart Group, Dr. Brown has more than 25 years of experience in nuclear cardiology and was one of the clinical pioneers of cardiac PET imaging. He also developed one of the earliest free-standing out-patient cath labs, performed the first renal and peripheral vascular intervention in North Texas. He also performed the first Percutaneous Aortic Valve Replacement in the Edwards US Pivotal Aortic Valve Stent Valve Trial.
Dr. Brown is a co-founder of The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano in Plano, Texas - a joint venture between the Baylor Healthcare system and more than 100 cardiovascular specialists. The hospital is dedicated to delivering the highest quality cardiovascular care and research through cutting-edge technology in a hospital environment decided solely to cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Brown serves as the Chairman of the Medical Staff and as the Director of Cardiovascular Research.
Dr. Brown is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association Council of Clinical Cardiology and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Brown and his wife, Susan, live in Dallas. They have five children and are very proud grandparents to nine beautiful grandchildren.
