Cliff Hamrick, LPC

Cliff Hamrick, LPC began his professional career as a biologist with a BS and MS in Biology. Cliff started his career as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal, continued as an instructor of biology at Baylor University, and eventually worked in various publishing companies designing assessments and writing study guides.



After volunteering during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Cliff decided to become a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with the state of Texas. After attending St. Edward's University in Austin, TX and completing his internship, during which he worked with Child Protective services, in a half-way house, and a residential treatment center for adolescent girls, cliff became fully licensed in 2011 and opened his own private practice soon after.



Cliff named his private practice Havamal Therapy. He focuses much of his work with adult and teenage male clients struggling with depression, anxiety, anger issues, and substance abuse issues. Cliff's therapeutic approach to working with clients is a combination of mindfulness meditation and solution-focused therapy. He conducts workshops for mental health professionals dealing with topics on ethics, working with CPS, and Paganism.
