prevents pregnancy and treats premenstrual dysphoric disorder and acne. Many medications, including some antibiotics and supplements, can cause Gianvi to not work.
Gianvi Overview
Gianvi is a prescription birth control medication used to prevent pregnancy and to treat premenstrual dysphoric disorder (a mood disorder related to the menstrual cycle). Gianvi is also used to treat acne in females at least 14 years of age. Gianvi contains two hormones, drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol, which belong to a group of drugs called hormonal contraceptives. These hormones prevent pregnancy by stopping ovulation and by altering cervical mucus and the lining of the uterus.
This medication comes in tablet form and is taken once daily at the same time each day, preferably after the evening meal or at bedtime with some liquid, as needed.
Common side effects of Gianvi include nausea, breast tenderness, and vaginal bleeding between menstrual periods.
