Gax-X is an over the counter medication used to relieve symptoms of bloating, and gas in adults and children 12 years of age and older. Gas-X belongs to a group of drugs called antiflatulents. Antiflatulents work by breaking up gas bubbles in the stomach and making them easier to be burped before entering the intestines.

This medication comes in a chewable tablet and as a softgel capsule. It is typically taken after meals and at bedtime as needed.

Gas-X is also available as a thin strip that is placed on the tongue to dissolve.

A common side effect of Gas-X includes burping.
